he courses in the Department of Social & Psychological
Sciences Department acquaint the student, through the use
of the scientific method, with determinants that affect
human social behavior. The sociology curriculum focuses
on human interactions and social institutions. Criminal
justice courses benefit those who desire to enter, or advance
in, careers in law enforcement or corrections. All these
programs offer students a choice of both academic and professional
training in social science fields. Students are able to
major in psychology, sociology, archeology, corrections,
law enforcement, and social work.
The Phylis Lan Lin Program in Social Work is accredited
by the Council on Social Work Education. The program prepares
qualified students for entry into the profession as generalist
practitioners. Formal application and admission to the social
work major is required. Interested students should inquire
at the program office.
